Budva is a small picturesque town in Montenegro on the Adriatic Sea. Part of the Budva Riviera, it is known for its long sandy beaches and fabulous nightlife.
Stone walls built by the Venetians surround the narrow streets of the medieval old town (Stari Grad) & this historic district is home to a seaside citadel and religious sites such as the Church of Santa Maria in Punta, established in the 9th century.

The city’s history is on view at the Budva City Museum, with artifacts dating from Greek, Roman and other periods. The Stefan Mitrov Ljubiša Memorial Home honors the birthplace and life work of a noted 19th-century Serbian writer. Mogren Beach is popular for sunbathing and swimming, while just west of Budva, Jaz Beach offers camping and occasional music festivals. There are more remote beaches just across the bay from Stari Grad on Sveti Nikola Island. Elsewhere along the Budva Riviera are more beaches, plus resorts and casinos.

Tivat is the closest airport, but there are not many flights.
